Vowel is a companion app for wedding hosts and guests. This page explains what data Vowel collects, why, and how to remove it.

The short version

• Vowel collects only what's needed to make the features work: who you are, which wedding you're attending, what you've shared in the app.
• Your data is stored in Vowel's backend (Supabase) so other guests at the same wedding can see your profile and the moments you've shared.
• Finding your photos with face recognition is optional and opt-in. If you use it, Vowel creates a private "faceprint" from your selfies to recognize you in the wedding photos. A faceprint is biometric data — it's created only with your explicit consent, used only to find your own photos, and you can delete it anytime.
• Questions you type into the assistant are sent to Mistral AI to generate a response, then discarded.
• Vowel does not run ads, sell your data, or use it to track you across other apps.
• You can delete your account and every piece of data tied to it from Settings at any time.

What Vowel collects

When you sign in:

• Your email address and a display name (used to identify you across devices)
• A device identifier generated on first launch (an anonymous ID tied to this install)

When you set up your profile (guests):

• Your name as you want other guests to see it
• A short bio
• A profile photo you choose to upload
• Interest tags you pick or that come out of the in-app interview
• A short "how I know the couple" line
